Taking a stand has many ups and downs to the outcome of your life. Personally I have taken many stands, but at one point in my life I had not.
For instance when I was in the fifth grade I had a friend who was getting picked on, and my friend was just standing there doing nothing to fight back. The bully or "jock" rather, had thought that he was the best thing around. Well back then I didn't do anything to help out my friend, but wait until he was done and then tried to comfort him.
Now days I will not tolerate anything like that, I will do whatever I have to to stick up for my friends, even if it resorts to fighting. Now don't get me wrong, I will try my best to prevent a fight, but if that person swings at me or my friend, I will not back down.
For example, one time last year, in the ninth grade, my friend Timothy was getting pushed around by a guy named Joey Germany. Joey was the type of guy who always got what he wanted and thought he was a "Bad A." This was the day he was wrong. The day was an A day, a Friday to be exact, and our first period class was P.E. Well on Friday's the whole gym played dodge ball, well we started playing and after the game was over Joey started messing with Tim. Now Tim he is a big guy, but he is not very aggressive. So when Joey started messing with Tim, I headed that way. When I got there I could tell that Timothy was upset, but that he didn't want to do anything. I don't really remember what happened exactly, but I do remember him swinging at me, and that's when he woke up on the ground.
Joey backed off for a while, and left me and Timothy alone, but he got brave one day and had one of his friends come and tell me to meet them in the locker room. I said, "No, I am not going to fight him, if he wants me he's going to have to come at me first. I am not going to walk into a room knowing that if I do, that I will probably get into trouble because I was just as guilty as him for fighting. So no." Well a few weeks later, during that same period, he runs at me with his fist clenched, and I wasn't going to have any of it. So right before he hit me, I ducked and slammed my shoulder into his temple. He was knocked out cold.
Joey moved away, and I haven't heard from him since. Taking a stand is a good thing, if you do it for the right reason. But if you take a stand in order to get what you want, in that since, you are as dumb as a rock.
Taking a stand!
There are people who talk about themselves all the time, and then there are those who gossip about others. Well I don't like to gossip that much so I don't consider this gossiping or anything like that. If anything, this is a great story of how one of my friends has really taken a stand, and how she is still taking a stand to this day.
I will not say who my friend is, but I will say how amazed I am, and how proud I am of her. My friend has really taken a stand that I consider amazing because of how easy it would be for her to do so many bad things.
I have friends who are always talking about how they had sex, or gotten high, or a number of other things that are just not right. Well I have not done any of those things, but neither has my friend. But the reason her story is so much more amazing is because of how much easier it is for her to do those things, when I am not as tempted.
My friend has friends, and family, that if she wanted to she could get high, or have sex, or anything that she wanted to rather easily, but she doesn't do any of it! She makes good grades at school, helps others more than herself, and has fought through so much, but is still standing strong. Everyday she is tempted to have sex or do drugs, but she fights through it because she knows that drugs and sex are wrong. Even her mother sometimes tempts her to go out and do bad things.
My friend has taken a stand that not may others can even compare to, and she is still fighting to keep standing, and to do the right thing, even to this day. Personally I think that this person is probably one of the strongest in the school because of what I know she has been through. I have many friends, I know many stories, but this is the one that really tops them all...

The Last Olympian
For years Percy Jackson has been fighting against all odds to protect what he believes in. There are many books to his story, but The Last Olympian is definitely the best of the best.
Kronos, the main titan in this glorious book, has been trying for eons to get out and take over humanity and the Olympians. Finally he has gotten out and has gained enough power to take over may monsters and kill may of Innocent lives.
There is a prophecy that says that at the age of 16 that a young hero will save the entire way of life... will it be Percy or will it be someone else?

Julius Caesar
Julius Caesar not one of my favorite books. Surprisingly, this play of Shakespeare was much less interesting to read than much of his other plays or stories. For me the read was very complicated, and the text was very confusing to read because of all the old terms and phrases used in Julius Caesar.
The first thing that made me lose my attention was all the very long and confusing phrases that the book used. Usually I will not have a problem with that, but in this book it was just to complicated for me. I didn't understand what they were talking about most of the time, and also I would not get the complicated ideas, feelings, or thoughts that Shakespeare was implying at the time.
Another reason I did not like Julius Caesar was because the book was not really about Julius Caesar, it was mainly about Bruits and his decision on weather or not to join the conspiracy to kill Caesar. I think that if a book or play or story is going to be titled after someone, then I think that they should be the main character, not the secondary character.
Julius Caesar was actually the first work of Shakespeare's that I really did not like. With all of the long and confusing phrases, to the play not being about Caesar, I just could not get into the book and enjoy it. But if I was to see the play I am sure that I would change my mind.

What does my name mean?
There are over 6 Billion people on earth, there are just as many names, but I happen to just have one of those names, and that is Nathan. I'm sure that every person on earth has a story of how their name came to be, my story is not long or very interesting, but it's a story.
By now you have already found out that my name is Nathan, well Nathan Edwards, anyway here is my story. About 16 years, 14 days, and 15 hours ago I was born. My mother has just suffered an agonizing 8 hours of labor, and had not really thought about my name. Well, what I mean to say is that she did think of a name for me, but at that point in time that was the leas of her worries. My name was going to be John Thomas Edwards, but when the Dr. came into the room, holding me, he asked what my name was going to be. My mother and father looked at each other and both said "Nathan." Although every time I ask my parents why they named me Nathan the story changed, but this was the first one that told me, so I'm sticking with it.
Nathan means "Gift from God," I personally think that this meaning is both truthful and, yet wrong. The reason I think that the meaning is truthful is because if you ask any of my family they will probably tell you that I am a gift from God. But the reason I think that the saying is wrong is because I think that maybe I might be a gift from God, but just because I'm a "Gift from God" doesn't mean that I am going to live up to all the expectations that everybody has put on me.
For example, I am a big procrastinator and right now I am doing this paragraph right before its due, also I have put in a lot of "its and 'is's" in this paragraph when there are not supposed to e any. anyway that's me and how my name came to be. Later!

The reasons I am thankful for Thanksgiving
There are many reasons why I think Thanksgiving is so wonderful, but I will only list 10 of those reasons.

- Thanksgiving happens to be around the time of my birthday.
- The month of Thanksgiving, aka November, is the time of the year when all of the exciting things happen in my life such as; birthdays, parties, gifts, being able to see long time friends and family, and eating.
- As I have mentioned before thanksgiving is a time for eating. I am not a very big fan of eating myself sick, but when Thanksgiving rolls around I am foods #1 fan!
- The time when Thanksgiving rolls by is also the time when my dad and I get to go hunting. Hunting is one of mine and my dads favorite past times.
- Another reason I love Thanksgiving so much, is the fact that my school gets to get out for almost a week, for the event.
- I am also thankful for Thanksgiving because some of my family give presents away at this event, and if you are lucky you might get one of those presents.
- Another reason I am thankful for Thanksgiving is because when Thanksgiving comes, people seem to be in a very good mood, all the time.
- The memories are another great reason I am thankful for Thanksgiving.
- The tenth reason I am thankful for Thanksgiving is the showing of love that my friends and family have for me.
Those are the top 10 reasons why I am thankful for Thanksgiving.

Book1: The Invisible Man (pgs. 135)
H. G. Wells's The Invisible Man is about a man, named Griffin, who has discovered the science to turn living organisms invisible. Griffin the main character of the story, does many more experiments on other organisms, but in one of his experiments he turns himself invisible. He starts to realize that, with the power of being invisible, he can do whatever he wants. The law can not do anything because they can not find him. So Griffin, being the "all powerful" man that he thinks he is, starts to commit various crimes.
Griffin ends up leaving the area, and goes to try somewhere else. He wonders into a little town called Iping, he soon realizes that he does not like being invisible, so he tries to do more experiments to turn himself visible again. People start to get suspicious and soon patrols are set out, doors are locked, and even windows are barred. He becomes very enraged because there are no more accessible supplies.
This story has one of the best illustrated writing styles, that I have read in a long time. This story has slang, matter-of-fact comments, and the tone seems to be rather angry. The Invisible Man has many scripted words and phrases that almost literally include the reader into the story. I recommend this book to any and all who love; drama, action, suspense, and an irregular type of mystery.

Web Site
Don't you just hate computers when they will not let you find a web site? Well right now I am not able to find any of the web sites that I have been looking for. The worst part of not being able to find the web site is when you just misspell one word, and not even just the word its one letter in the word. Anyway that's whats on my mind.
Never Give Up!!!
On the opening morning of last years youth deer hunt, my dad and I hunted together. My brother and uncle hunted together on the other side of the property. My dad and I did not see many deer, only one doe, and I could not get a shot at it. Around 8:30 we heard my brother David shoot. After a few minutes my uncle called to let us know that David had harvested a mature doe. Excited for him, but anxious for us, we still waited to no avail. After about another hour, we herd David shoot "again," and as before we received another call to inform us that David had indeed harvested another deer. This time it was a small spike buck.
After another few more minutes of waiting our curiosity got the best of us, and we began our long walk to see David's trophies. Feeling totally discouraged I was "traveling the trail of tears," about half-way there we heard a couple of deer coming. As they ran by I attempted a "Hail Mary" shot at a running doe. At this time I was feeling lower than slug slime. As we continued on I was walking gun down, head down, and had basically gave up on the whole day. When my dad, and his infinite wisdom, said "Now son don't ever give up, you never know when that big buck is 'bout to come out." In an excited whisper he said "And there he is now!" as he pointed towards the path at our right.
As I looked where he was pointing, I saw the antlers gleaming in the sun as the large eight point exited from the woods, and entered the opening in front of us. My dad having quick reflexes shot the shooting stick into the ground. While doing so he said "Get 'em son!" I raised my 7mm O8 handy rifle, and placed the cross hairs on his chest. I squeezed the trigger, and the deer ran back towards the opening stumbling through the woods. Not knowing for sure if I had hit the deer, we anxiously approached where he had been standing, we began to look for sign to track him by.
As we began our assent up the hill where he had went, we broke though the brush we saw him lying up the hill. Giggling to myself like a little school girl, I was proud to see that I had killed something bigger than what David had killed. Still shaking from all the adrenalin, my dad called my Uncle Sam and could barley talk, but managed to get out that I had killed a big buck.
